Ryan & Cathy // A Wedding Film in Claremont, CA at Christmas House Inn and Gardens

Here’s a wonderful film I poured a lot of heart and soul into. As the years have passed documenting what’s directly in front of me has become more and more appealing. At this point I want an inside look, a sort of back stage pass to record what’s happening behind the scenes at weddings. For that to happen people need to be open and willing with the process, and it’s amazing to have two people like Ryan and Cathy who absolutely threw for the fences. They were alive and full of love, their day was a representation of who they truly were. It came naturally to them, they just were. With that mentality I can capture something truly special, though one shot stands out in particular. Just before they processed Cathy stood waiting, the classic “here comes the bride” blaring out from the piano. She asked her dad what he thought, and he stared at her with the most intense love. It’s a love that only parents can understand. To document little slices of history like this is all I’ve ever wanted to do. A piece of the human experience that could be passed down: a reminder.
